I don't think this is related at all

Josh, please disable the "Current track" applet in the Context View
and try again, this might be a plasma bug.

I let you post the follow-up on the kubuntu-users mailing list, there
was no need for cross-posting in the first place BTW, you only started
that thread 3 days ago, just give us some time to investigate :)
