The usual question at this level of available information is: do you have the 
necessary codecs installed? Recent Amarok ships a sample sound file at 
/usr/share/kde4/apps/amarok/data/first_run_jingle.ogg

If you don’t have that, then search for files on your system. KDE and Gnome 
ship default sounds for events, you may find them using
find /usr/share/ -name '*.ogg'
