You seem quite content to recommend removing PulseAudio, without
further questions from the user -- even paying attention to what he's
talking about in his own post, or even the traditional "have you
checked the bug reports?"

Although, obviously it's been working, or you wouldn't keep doing it.
[Fallacy. It might not be working. Your users might not be able to
tell you that "nuke Pulse" is a bad idea. Or you might keep doing it
for other reasons. I confess I'm not very concerned.]

Original poster up above better watch out, though. His Google
searching has turned up something that either A) has nothing to do
with his problem, which may be much more serious and actually
implicate Pulse, or B) says Pulse isn't even the problem (and in which
he's still recommended to remove Pulse anyway -- that's some good user
support, let me tell you).

To the original poster, Bill: I'd try the phonon-xine engine like
they said, possibly try moving your music to a standard linux
partition (as opposed to a flash drive or a windows partition), and
_not_ uninstalling things willy-nilly just yet.
