You should consider to switch the axes. 

Artists on x-axis and albums of artists on z-axis.

In most cases you have no chance to visualize all artists in either variant.

But if you go artists x and album z, then you would be able to at least show 
all albums of an artists on the screen at the same time. (at least if it has 
not more than 5 or 6 or something around that).

And it would be much easier to build a circle of all artists (if you even had 
planed to do that)
