You are missing the point.

CoverFlow, CD-Stack/Tower is not really to select as fast as possible an album 
you want to go to. 

Its more to browse through your collection to just see what is there and find 
something you want to hear now. So the use case is when you just don't know 
what you want to hear and then go and look through your collection. That is 
not possible by typing.
