I think you'll find everything is still there, the issue seems to be a
checksum that Apple has added to their more recent firmware and the version
of lbgpod your distribution may be using.

Following the instructions got my IPod Classic working with Amarok under Suse
10.3. I had to include the step for modifying the Sysinfo file on the IPod
itself before my music reappeared. (It seemed a bit scary, but it worked.) If
you follow the instructions step by step you should be alright. I'm now using
Amarok for everything including podcasts it's great, even album artwork works
correctly. I've said goodbye to ITunes here.
