That does in fact look a lot better then the pen'n'paper version :)

I like the 2 "areas" you get above the browsers and the playlist, that
can hold controls relevant to those 2 parts of the UI.
Especially the 5 buttons you drew above the browsers on the left would
be very useful, but in a different way you intend I guess. They could
be used to selectively disable Collections (local, removable, remote,
mediaplayer) in the browser.
I haven't been able to come up with a UI for that function, but these
buttons above the browsers would work.

I dislike the fact that the volume control is not near the rest of the controls.
The controls at the bottom are also eating away at the area currently
used for the status bar, although the now playing information (in the
status bar) makes more sense if it's close to the actual controls.
