Why not set up your keyboard shortcuts to be triggered by the Win key?
Nothing, as far as I know, in Linux uses it, and I've setup all
hotkeys on my computer to be triggered with it (Win + R = Amarok, Win
+ X = Play, Win + B =Next Track, etc.).
