One thing I did find a little odd was that things seemed to take a long
time before doing any actual transfer. It looked like it had hung. It
was doing ogg->mp3 conversion via transkode but processor usage was
minimal and there was a lack of feedback to the user (e.g. "Converting
to mp3 format, please wait..." with (ideally) a progress bar).

I've not looked closely into this so there could be something on my
setup that is preventing fast transcoding...
