Amarok 1.4.5 and 1.4.6 freeze

Hello, I have two problems that make amarok unusable
for me.

Problem #1:
Distro: Fedora 7
Amarok: 1.4.5 and 1.4.6
KDE: 3.5.6 and 3.5.7 (I tried all the version
combinations)
Music type: mp3 or mpc (I tried ogg with amarok 1.4.5&
KDE 3.5.6 combination only)
Engine: xine (binary or self compiled, tried both)
version: xine-lib-1.1.7
Database: SQLite or MySQL

When I let amarok play continuously it freezes. This
happens completely random. Sometimes I can play music
for hours, sometimes it freezes right in the 2nd
minute. The freeze happens somewhere in the middle of
the playing track, i.e. it does not necessarily happen
while changing tracks.

I tried disabling all of crossfade, OSD and fadeout.
It didn't help.

--with-helix --enable-mysql):

Problem #2:
Engine: Helix (HelixPlayer-1.0.7-5.fc7)

Since I couldn't get the xine engine work (It works
flawlessly standalone or with kaffeine) I wanted to
try the Helix engine. It works fine. It is kind of
sloppy when I seek through the track but I can live
with that.
The problem is when I use the Helix engine it opens 7
amarokapp instances instead of just one:

Each consume about 120MB of memory, that makes 840MB
total. I don't think amarok needs this much memory.
Also, when I keep amarok open playing with Helix
engine for an extended period, my X freezes. There may
be a memory leak.

I hope the problem can be solved. Please let me know
if you need more information.
