Which version of GCC is supported for amarok?

I am having trouble while compiling sqlite3.c in amarok. My version of gcc
is  "gcc version 3.3.5 20050117 (prerelease) (SUSE Linux)"

The problem was a long one so I will post it only on request. In short, gcc
stoped because of too many warnings. By removing all the -std tag, I was
able to compile flawlessly. Was it a wise step?
