Yes, indeed there has been some chat about it, but I don't think we
really got anywhere with anything beyond chat.

I'm certainly hugely in favour of a link between the scanning/collection
code of the two projects. I've done a lot of hacking on MythMusic in the
past and while I've not done much of late it is something I would be
very keen to see updated and will hopefully be able to help in the future.

I said as much with regards to the v2 planning emails that I would very
much like to see a completely separate collection scanner system which
is preferably separate of KDE libs (I would hope also separate from Qt
libs but that would really be a BIG ask!).

If it were a pure Qt application + DB + tagging libraries, there may be
a good argument to getting support integrated into MythTV (Myth is Qt
based for those who don't know).

Typically the MythTV project is a bit adverse to external dependencies
(or adding more) as this was one of the criticisms in the past, so this
may be a hurdle, but hopefully not one that would be insurmountable.

So if the devs are reading this, please take note with regard to the
whole collection scanning system. If a stable Querying API could be
created to completely abstract the whole DB, then this would be even
better as this whole system could be used in Myth which would be ace.

All the best

Col.
