How to tell Amarok which Magnatune albums I have purchased?

I would give it a try. Can you take this as a feature request, then: "Have 
the possibility to enter Magnatune purchase/re-download information for 
albums not purched via Amarok"?

I did. And as I already wrote (in my other mail), it shows up in my 
postgresql database, but not in the browser.
