It might be (though unlikely) that the cause of this are audio files that are 
somehow corrupted. I've seen a couple of files that are played fine by XMMS, 
but not xine.

One other possibility is that xine-lib itself is broken on your system due to 
some CFLAGS or LDFLAGS. If that's the issue, then recompiling xine-lib with 
more conservative flags might help.

Then again, these are just wild guesses. One thing I'm almost sure about is 
that it's probably an engine or a sound system bug.
