musicbrainz

Given you are rather obviously running Gentoo, I'll give a quick summary:

tunepimp (the library Amarok uses for Musicbrainz support) was removed
from Gentoo following a GLSA (Gentoo Linux Security Advisory). Since
then, the new versions 0.5.0 and 0.5.1 have been added back into
Portage, but remain hard masked due to a lack of applications needing
them, among other things.

While there were some commits to Amarok to make it work with tunepimp
0.5 (which had some major changes), apparently when the Gentoo Amarok
maintainer (Flameeyes) tested the two together, it seemed unstable and
didn't work, and the backtrace.didn't produce any useful information
as to what the problem was.

So, until somebody decides to figure out what's wrong with tunepimp
0.5 support in Amarok and fixes it, Musicbrainz support for Amarok on
Gentoo is on hold.
