Strange. When you check with ps -ef does yauap run then?
If not try to start it manually (it is also a commandline player). It is 
possible that our DBus or GStreamer setups are different.

On SUSE it requires at least:
gstreamer010 gstreamer010-plugins-base-oil gstreamer010-plugins-good 
dbus-1-x11
