xmms-goom problems on ubuntu

I can't speak for Goom as I've never tried it, but there has recently
been a bug fixed with Amarok's libvisual support - so recently it is
not in any released version. I think though that that bug might not
affect any Amarok version before 1.4.1, as new versions of Amarok use
libvisual 0.4 whereas older versions used 0.2.

In any case, should you be running the default version of Amarok that
ships with Dapper, I would suggest you maybe try upgrading, although
remembering that 1.4.1 does have broken libvisual support, if you care
about it. Packages are available at www.kubuntu.org. Even if it
doesn't fix your Goom problems, you will still get a shiny new Amarok.
