xmms-goom problems on ubuntu

Hi

I'm running Ubuntu Dapper and having trouble getting Goom (visualization
plugin) to work. I've installed Xmms and xmms-goom, Goom works fine with
Xmms, but when I select it in Amarok, the Goom window comes up, displays
the first frame and then freezes. Other Xmms visualization plugings
(like xmms-jess or xmms-infinite) work.

Does anyone have Gooom working with Amarok on Ubuntu?
Or what about libvisual? That does not seem to work either on Ubuntu.
