To be fair, Harald has added code to get the popup to come up,
although it didn't work for me at the time, since kpackagekit was DOA.
Now that it's back, that part of the problem should be fixed.

However, kubuntu-restricted-extras *should* install the needed gst
codecs, if that is going to be the preferred backend, for sure.
