The trouble with the eee is that lately the ones with GNU/Linux have
become a bit harder to find. The eee 901 with ssd usually goes for
around 250€, but if you want something really cheap your best option
might be the acer aspire one, the market is flooded with them and the
one with GNU/Linux and ssd can quite easily be found for 199€. Anyway,
plenty of choice below 300€.
