Codec script for Amarok2: is this an option?

Is this something that can be handled in Phonon?
Either specialcase a special function call to check for mp3 support and get 
the path to a script to install it, or do it properly like GStreamer does (and 
emulate it in Xine), with PackageKit integration and whatnot.
