Beta versioning system

To be frank even I was myself confused with this naming system,I installed
aplha2 and i was left wondering that I had installed the wrong version.Beta1
should be Beta 1 and so on IMHO because a new users might find it confusing
when they download say beta 2 and after that it shows 1.9x something.
