showstoppers for 2.0.1

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=178083 is a heisenbug of the
worst kind. I cannot reproduce it on any of my systems.

So far I know of 3 people for whom it happens. For them however it is
very consistent, so it does not appear to be a race condition or such.
I also cannot see any connection with KDE or Qt versions, 32 or 64 bit
or any such thing.

I have added some debug output to help me trace it, but since I cannot
reproduce I am very much working blind here and have basically given
up until someone who is able to debug it is able to reproduce it.
