Plasma active capabilities and direction

Hello,

I have some questions/ramblings/thoughts regarding Plasma Active ( PA )
that I really would appreciate some response to. Let me start with my "use
case":

I envision having a device which lets me, in no particular order of
interest: stay up date with RSS feeds, browse some office documents, read
my mail ( several different accounts ), connect to my irc networks (
quassel or plain ssh+irssi is what I use today ), do some general web
surfin', listen to my music and watch some movies, as well as letting me
use ssh in a couple of terminals. I also wish to be able to use a separate
screen and keyboard to do some lighter coding ( read text editing ).

I envision this device to be: somewhere between a phone and a tablet in
size ( a samsung galaxy note II comes to mind ).

A device fullfilling all of the above would for me completly eliminate the
need for a laptop

I know PA today satisfies a bunch of the above, so I'll get on to the
specific questions:

I) How does PA deal with multiple screens?
  a) Does kwin support using different themes/modes for different screens,
ie could I have kwin-active handling the built-in display and regular kwin
handle external desktop?
  b) What would happen to programs displayed on the external monitor when
disconnected? Would they be hidden until a external monitor is reattached,
or would they just receive a kill signal?
  c) Will there be tiling support on external monitor? Last status of kwin
as far as I know is that is in-between ( it did support tiling, support was
removed, might come back via kwin-scripts ).

II) How does PA visavi virtual keyboard deal with external keyboards? Is
the virtual keyboard disabled when there is a connected external kbd?

III) Who does the device adaptations? From what I understand PA rely on
Mer for the base OS, which in turn does not themselfs do the device
adaptations. So who does?

Best regards
Andreas Nilsson
