Elevator-pitching on a bus

This morning I experienced another one of those "magic moments" that
show me what's so great about Plasma Active and being part of its community:
Every morning when I ride the train and bus to work, I take my WeTab
with PA out and read scientific papers with Okular.
This morning, suddenly a guy sitting next to me asked me "Is this GNOME
3?" "No, it's Plasma Active." "Ah, Plasma, so it's KDE stuff?" "Yes.
Want to have a look?" So I showed him some of the basics and he was
instantly hooked. He told me he had a WeTab himself, but wasn't all too
happy with WetabOS. So he tried to get Android running on it but wasn't
successful yet. Now he wants to try PA on it. He liked the Peek,
Activities, even reading PDFs with Okular!
Even though this seems to be the person most excited about PA after my
"Bus pitch" yet, he isn't the first one. I already had a few other
people asking me what OS I was running on my device, and there was even
an elderly lady who asked me what that thing I held in my hands was and
what one could do with it.
However, admittedly, the "geekier" people were the ones more interested
in what I had to say.
Long story short, just using a device running PA in public is really a
great way of attracting attention to it and it actually is possible to
sell the idea behind PA in the few minutes between getting on and off
the bus.
And, of course, I'm always proud to add "And I'm part of the team that
created this!" ;)
So, to those who maybe haven't tried it yet: Use your PA devices out in
the open, it really is a great experience!
Have fun,
Thomas
