which steals this user input from the application.

i'd really like to see us make a clear position on whether or not the 
application owns its space or not. 

realize that if we say "not" we will have to get at least some applications 
_specially tailored_ just for our OS so they behave well according to what we 
feel the app should and should not be allowed to assume about its own window. 
good luck on that until we are shipping 100s of 1000s of devices per year.

for me, as an app developer, i'd like the OS and shell to stay well out of the 
way of my app. thank you very much. :)
