There have been many changes in the Project:KDE:Devel repo.
2011-11-23-17-42-basyskom-plasma-active-devel-USB-live.iso boots fine
but it still has some issues.

I think you have to change the DiskID after dd'ing;
printf "\x9d\x2a\x44\x7b" | dd of=${IMAGE} bs=1 count=4 seek=440
