for now, i really recommend we keep it simple. we don't have a ton of stuff to 
put into active-applications, and i'd suggest that it would even create some 
confusion as to whether those are _all_ the active apps or not; remember that 
we have other "active apps" that live in their own repos.

right now i don't think we need to put more stress on our packagers or on 
newcomers who may wish to contribute to the project by adding yet more 
repositories and changing what is where.

it's a young project with relatively few resources to apply, so let's be 
conservative where possible and KISS.
