Summary: Default system keyboard layout is not correctly
                    interpreted in KDE
           Product: kde
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: unspecified
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
        ReportedBy: seem.iges at mail.ee

Version: (using KDE 4.1.1)
OS: Linux
Installed from: Unlisted Binary Package

Arch linux 2008.06:

Default system keymap (/etc/rc.conf KEYMAP) is "et" = Estonian
Keyboard layout "et" is also specified in xorg.conf

The keyboard layouts provided in KDE (System settings -> Regional & Language)
are not used ie disabled. Launching KDE via startx or making the the default
login X (kdm) ends up not using the correct keyboard layout, it the latter case
its not possible to log in.

Starting KDE via startx and for the first time entering into the System
settings -> Regional & Language -> Keyboard layout, the default layout
suggested is Ethiopia, which is not correct.

It seems country codes and language codes get somehow mixed up.
Country code for Estonia is "EE", language code is "et".
Country code for Ethiopia is "ET", as for language, not sure :P

Country codes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_3166-1
Language codes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ISO_639-1_codes
