Thanks for the links ,

Both these have much the same concept of animating wires via moving parts (in 
the first case, by moving dots, and in the second, by moving dashes (as far 
as I can tell from the screenshots); and having the speed proportional to the 
current flowing).

I'll likely implement something in ktechlab along these lines (excuse the 
pun), depending on what looks good
