Several entries accounted twice

I will try to answer you in the order of your responses/questions.

Further, the 4 entries are still only in their correct place in the ledger:

The errant entries are +560.00  - 395.90 + 25.50 - 25.90 = 163.70
Which matches the difference between 7,756.23 and 7,919,93; the amount 
by which the  opening balance is wrongly increased.

It is to be noted that the 4 entries were originally put in in 
succession but are now separated due to my efforts to fix the error by 
deleting them and re-entering them (to no avail).

Further, when I try to create a report (e.g. Transaction Report), these 
4 entries do appear twice each (with the correct dates).


Note that one of the entries originally had Nisbetts incorrectly spelled 
and I corrected this in the ledger when I deleted and re-entered it 
which corrected the ledger but the report still contained the original 
deleted entry plus the new corrected entry.
