Just FYI for anyone who don't know...

NX> 1001 Bye.
NX> 1004 Error: nxagent failed to start. Session timed out.
                Blocking 1000 again ...
touch: creating `/tmp/.X1000-lock': Permission denied

The reason you might get one of the below error msg because somehow you
didn't cleanly logout/sudden disconnect from X windows.  This will cause you
unable to startkde or your choice of window manager.

I resolved the issue by 

1) rm /tmp/.X1*-lock
2) rm /tmp/.X11-unix/*

Then I was able to get get in.
