What compression level on the scale "Modem.....LAN" (the slider widged
in NoMachine NX Client are you using?

I suspect "LAN". Be aware that "LAN" is equivalent to "no NX compression
at all".

Please test with "Modem" (highest compression level) again, and report
the differences.
