Hello,

I have a problem with FreeNX. When I start the connection and I come
into Gnome on the server, I get an error:

----------
X server version data:
The XFree86 Project, Inc
40300000
You are using XFree 4.3.0.
There are known problems with complex XKB configurations.
Try using simpler configuration or taking more fresh version of
XFree software.
If you report this situation as a bug, please include:
- The result of xprop -root | grep XKB
- The result of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/
keyboard/xkb
--------

I've found this problem in Google:
http://mail.kde.org/pipermail/freenx-knx/2004-November/000417.html
But... I do not use Fedora, and I do not use X.org. I am using Debian
Sarge (on both server and client) with XFree 4.3.

server:~# gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/xkb
 layouts = [us]
 model = pc105
 overrideSettings = true
 options = []
 update_handlers = []

The client has the same keyboard-type.

server:~# xprop -root
xprop: unable to open display ''

Sorry, the server is far away, but I expect it will be the same as
another machine, that says:

otherserver:~# xprop -root | grep XKB
_XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "xfree86", "pc105", "us", "", ""
_XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "xfree86", "pc105", "us", "",
"altwin:left_meta_win"

server:~# ls -l /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/rules
total 140

Does somebody know what I could do to find this bug?

With regards,
Paul van der Vlis.
