This is the same problem gmail used to have. See

Can you reproduce the issue with khtml ? If you can then this issue needs to be
reported against "Product: Oxygen". There is nothing we can do in kwebkitpart
to mitigate this issue since we do not control the rendering of the checkboxes
(QtWebKit does that).
