Just like in KHTML, you can press the ESC key and the search bar is dismissed.

Press the ESC key just like in KHTML works fine. You can add the "/" as a
shortcut yourself, but it does not make any sense to have that by default since
it might cause a conflict on content editable pages. However, one can set
whatever additional shortcut is desired through the shortcut configuration
dialog as you have already done here.
