I am going to apply the patch I proposed previously as a workaround for this
issue. It absolutely makes no sense for us to rigidly adhere to the RFC when
none of the other client apps do. BTW, this is no different than any of the
other RFC violations we had implemented in kio_http to date, e.g. treating a
302 and 303 server responses the same way.
