Well the problem with that is people with the current stable release of KDE
would not be able to compile kwebkitpart if we add new features upstream in
the kdewebkit for KDE 4.5 or even a future 4.4.x release (which there surely
will be) and start using those new features in kwebkitpart.

Personally I think we should wait until 4.4.1 is released and do it after that
release. There were a couple of important fixes that went into the upstream
libraries that will be released with 4.4.1 ; so I suggest you wait and perhaps
encourage/mandate the use of 4.4.1 with kwebkitpart.
P.S. I have added an ISSUES file in kdelibs/kdewebkit to keep track of the
known bugs and problems in the upstream libraries. There is also a TODO list
in extragear/base/kwebkitpart. You might find those useful when writing a
release note...
