So I found something weird. On the latest version of openSUSE Tumbleweed, the
issue persists, yet on the latest user version of KDE Neon, which is the same
KDE version, I do not experience the issue. Same with the testing versions of
Neon.

I don't think it's just Tumbleweed either; something is happening in distros
that isn't happening in Neon. But I don't know what it is or why.
