thats very unfortunate! Yet i will leave a workaround for any folk that find
this distracting:

1. Install the Adwaita icon theme
2. In its index.theme file, make sure Hidden=false not true
3. In Breeze index.theme file, make sure Inherits=Adwaita,..... (Adwaita needs
to be at first) 
4. Restart
