After a few days I became quite used to the subtle color scheme of the KDE
taskbar, so I do not see the issue as big as before.

Still, I wanted to share an experiment I did by increasing the opacity of the
"focus" state. It might be a bit more usable, with the downside that the colors
are a bit less harmonious.
