            Bug ID: 379885
Summary: Breeze icon for "Multimedia" in systemsettings is
                    confusing for new users
           Product: Breeze
           Version: 5.9.5
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: minor
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Icons
          Assignee: visual-design at kde.org
          Reporter: bernie at codewiz.org
                CC: kainz.a at gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I recently observed a new KDE user browse through the main System Settings
window in search for the sound configuration KCM and miss the Multimedia icon
in the Hardware pane because "this one looked like a monitor, but I wanted to
configure sound so I was looking for a speaker".

The Oxygen version of this icon is a video clap with a musical note, which
might have been easier to associate with "sound controls".

I personally think a speaker icon would be more recognizable. This is what both
MacOS and Windows use. Cinnamon also has a speaker, and Gnome shows a volume
knob.

I filed a separate bug on systemsettings to track renaming Multimedia to "Sound
and Video" or splitting it into two separate icons (#379822).
