Well there really isn't a central place where you can ask to the entire
KDE community.
I once wrote some posts on the VDG on kde forum but only 3-4 people answered.
Instead the blog post and reddit gave us a lot of feedbacks.
I don't think they are ramdom thoughts.
Those who cares about open source development follow reddit.
And also the blog post received a lot of feedbacks.
So I think they are pretty good point of references.
Keep in mind that you can't ask to the entire KDE users what do they think
about a change and even if you could, I don't think all the users has
something to say.
Those who cares enough will answer to you if you post on some visible
website (like kde planet).

Anyway I finished with the archive file.
@andreas would be nice if you can make also 7z and rar archives (at least
just the 64 pixel icons, I'll take care of the other sizes.)
