Bug ID: 506253
Summary: alt tab window switching causing windows to get longer
Classification: I don't know
Product: kde
Version First unspecified
Reported In:
Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: minor
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
Reporter: jimmy.bungalo8 at gmail.com
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
essentially, every time i alt tab into another window, the window extends
downwards by a couple of pixels, which gradually obfuscates a good chunk of the
bottom of the window after several alt tabs. clicking restore and then maximize
returns the window to it's original size, but it remains prone to extending.
this seems to be only maximized apps, not on windowed apps. also, only some
apps, such as discord (i use equibop from flathub) and strawberry music player
(from official fedora repos).
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Installed Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop
2. Installed some customization things such as Darkly and Klassy, as well as
themes, but nothing too major
3. I dabbled in using the Rawhide kernel and have since reverted to 42's
kernel; broken packages may remain, but I have doubts
OBSERVED RESULT
Alt-Tabbing to switch to certain windows extends the window from the bottom off
the bottom end of the screen when maximized, not to the sides or the top.
EXPECTED RESULT
The window should remain the same size and fit the screen perfectly.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: Fedora KDE Plasma Desktop 42
KDE Plasma Version: 6.4.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.15.0
Qt Version: 6.9.1
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I use an AMD 7800XT, integrated graphics are disabled, if that's at all
important. I also noticed the same thing happens when full-screening videos in
Discord and exiting fullscreen.
