I've discovered that trying to open an appimage in this broken state freezes
(and crashes?) plasma (have to restart afterwards). Launching appimage from
command line is find though. Also sometimes it's weirdly conditional, gtk apps
like firedragon (derivative of floorp browser, which is a derivative of
firefox) and qt/kde apps can start normally, and electron apps can't start.
Sometimes it's all applications though.
