Error message example
SUMMARY
I have a few symlinks on the desktop.
If I want to locate the target, I usually open the Properties of the symlink,
and then in the General tab I press the button next to the "Points to" text
field.
The text reported in the text field correctly represents the path of the
target, but when I click the button it shows an error reporting that the path
is not found. However, if you inspect the text of the error, you'll notice that
the path is not found because "/home/%USER/Desktop" is prepended to the correct
path.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Find (or create) a symlink on the Plasma desktop
2. Open the Properties for the symlink
3. In the General tab locate the "Points to" entry field
4. Check that the text in the entry field correctly represents the full path to
the target of the symlink
5. Press the button besides the "Points to" entry field
OBSERVED RESULT
An error message is shown, with a message like this:
"The file or folder
/home/cris/Desktop/home/cris/Nextcloud-FS/CartellaCondivisa/Documentazione da
Cristiano/Mappa_Servizi.ods does not exist."
Notice that "/home/%USER/Desktop/" is prepended to the correct full path.
EXPECTED RESULT
The target of the symlink should be revealed.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.1.0
Qt Version: 6.7.0
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This happens on linux openSUSE Tumbleweed. It happened with Plasma 5, too.
