Thank you, Nate, for looking into this!

Unfortunately yes, the issue is the same with a new clean user account too. I
tested it with cairo-dock. With 100% or 150% global scaling the dock looks and
works just fine. Whereas with 168,75% and some others it is horribly distorted.
