            Bug ID: 488008
Summary: Wayland: capture key strokes and display them with OSD
                    while recording screen
    Classification: I don't know
           Product: kde
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
          Reporter: andrea.ippo at gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

I couldn't find a way, in a Wayland session, to display key strokes on the
screen via an OSD.

This would be particularly helpful while recording screencasts. I have tried
`screenkey` but it's X11 only (and I guess every other similar app as well). My
understanding is that this is once again one of those responsibilities that
Wayland is putting on the compositor.

It would be great to have a feature that can be used by any screen recording
app (e.g. you just enable a key strokes OSD feature in Plasma, and then any
screen recording app recording the entire screen or region will "see" it), but
also having this just in Spectacle would be a very good start.

Thanks
