            Bug ID: 490817
Summary: Profiles from older Falkon versions get lost (blank
                    browserdata-backup.db file)
    Classification: Applications
           Product: Falkon
           Version: 24.01.75
          Platform: Ubuntu
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: grave
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: unassigned-bugs at kde.org
          Reporter: ijordiatienza at gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Put /falkon folder created in older Falkon version in ~/.config/
2. Start Falkon (Version 24.01.75)
3. Error message appears, saying "incompatible profile", and that a new profile
will be created and the older one has been saved in
~/.config/falkon/profiles/default/browserdata-backup.db.
4. Open that file browserdata-backup.db in order to recover your data

OBSERVED RESULT
The file is blank (tried with text editor and an online .db viewer).

EXPECTED RESULT
Opening browserdata-backup.db would show the old profile's information

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Ubuntu 24.4
Qt Version: 5.15.16

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
* Couldn't check which Falkon version was the older one because my computer
died, it is the one that ships with Ubuntu 22 for apt get; maybe 3.2.0,
according to this?
https://ubuntu.pkgs.org/22.04/ubuntu-universe-arm64/falkon_3.2.0+dfsg1-1_arm64.deb.html
* As I'm changing of computer and doing a lot of distro hopping, I also tried
in Manjaro 24 this same system of moving the old /falkon folder to ~/.config
and starting Falkon. There, it work without a problem, all profile, backups and
passwords were recovered.
