checking aptitude, the dependency chain is

1.  `dragonplayer` depends `phonon4qt5`
2.  `phonon4qt5` depends `phonon4qt5-backend-vlc | phonon4qt5-backend`
3.  `phonon4qt5-backend-vlc` is installed

I'll try temporarily switching to `phonon4qt5-backend-gstreamer` to see
if that makes a difference.
